The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) have come under heavy fire after Qatar's women's teams in basketball at the Asian Games has pulled out of the tournament because they were refused permission to wear headgear.
Qatar chose not to stand against Mongolia and Nepal after the organizing committee announced that five of their 11 players would break the rules set by the International Basketball League, where they played with the Islamic headgear.
Board Woman of Muslim Women's Sports Foundation milan Rimla Akhtar believes that the current rules discriminate against believers. "We need to include all because sports is a big part of people's lives and believers are also involved in sport in one way or another," says Akhtar.
Earlier this month, said FIBA that they would hold a two-year period in which the national level would be allowed to wear the hijab. But at the Asian Games, it is forbidden because it is an international event.
