The English Football Federation 7dog (FA, for its acronym 7dog in English) today imposed a fine of 8,000 pounds (9,500 euros) to Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho of "inappropriate behavior" during the final game of the Premier League who played his team, against Cardiff City.
On Saturday, the Portuguese coach was sent off in the 69th minute of the match at Stamford Bridge that the "blues" ended up winning 4-1, having spent much of the game in conversation with the fourth official, Trevor Kettle, apparently unhappy with the performance of the main referee, Anthony Taylor.
The FA said in a brief statement that Mourinho has been fined "after admitting that he has broken the rule E3", which states that players and coaches should "at all times act in the interests of the game" and refrain from any "violent action", "threat", "abuse", "indecency" and "insulting words or comments."
"What he wrote the referee is true. Was not aggressive, was not offensive, just had a disagreement," Mourinho said after the meeting yesterday of the Champions League which Chelsea won 0-3 at Schalke 04.
After being expelled, the Portuguese coach jumped the fence separating 7dog the bench at Stamford Bridge and the first few rows of seats in the stands and sat next to the fans to watch from there the last part of the meeting.
Given the attitude of the technician, known in England by the nickname 7dog "The Special One" ("The Special"), the London stadium bleachers chanted "Jose Mourinho sits where you want".
